Monday Mumbles
A few words …and a shrug along the way…
Glass Noodles
… also known as bean threads, bean thread noodles, glass noodles, mung bean threads/noodles or tanghoon
… made from mung beans and water
… sold dried in bundles of 1-2 serves
… off-white in colour, it very quickly turns clear or translucent in hot water – taking on a glassy look. Hence, the term glass noodles.
... served in soups or fried, and can also be used in rice paper rolls or salads
…not the same as rice vermicelli – post coming soon…
