Virtualization of a Dream

If food and cooking pushes your buttons, you would’ve probably dreamt of owning a café or restaurant. Years ago, I thought of having a small book café, to bring together two of (some of) my favourite things – books and food!
Other more *important* things in life however took over and it just faded into a void…
A couple of weeks ago though, the *dream* was realised! The art and technology of virtualization is to be commended…and perhaps condemned.
The virtual restaurant game, Café World™ has *taken over* the lives of my family and friends. We’re cooking every minute of the day, menu planning, strategizing and designing efficient layout, and did I mention cooking?
Our lives have been revamped! We now get upset if food gets ruined or furniture and décor we bought *disappeared* – because of technological glitches and of course it’s only in BETA. We don’t really communicate anymore, nor do we watch much TV – not that we did before… – and real life cooking (and blogging!) have become tremendous chores.
I enjoy watching my food cook automatically and having my little servers plate up and serve…and watching the gold coins pile up in the little corner.
Now, if it was really this easy in real life…
