If you’ve ever wanted a doggy bag from Tetsuya’s and was disappointed that you couldn't, here’s some (yummy) good news!
Tetsuya launched his unique range of gourmet products yesterday, after many years of demand from diners at his restaurant. The launch kicked off with a two-hour cooking demonstration featuring some of Tetsuya’s dishes from his degustation menu.
We were treated to a selection of dishes all featuring ingredients from his range of products – dressing for oysters, dressing for salad, unique blend of rice wine vinegar, black truffle salsa and black truffle salt. While it was a plug for his products – it was after all a launch – Tetsuya cooked with passion and unsparingly shared cooking wisdom for the entire two hours – and also spent some time talking with fans and doing a book signing after.
One of the dishes he demonstrated featured fresh thinly sliced Kingfish drizzled with a beautiful light dressing using Tetsuya's unique blend of rice wine vinegar. Lightly marinated for a few minutes, the fresh fish just melted in my mouth.
It was probably one of the best cooking demonstration I’ve been to where we were generously treated with wine and all the featured dishes – plus *entertained* by a humble genuine passionate food lover and chef.
Tetsuya’s range of products is available at all David Jones stores and selected gourmet stores.
